Happy New Year from Whitehouse

lost in translation

The dishwasher chose yesterday to break down. Went to James Stewart in Kelso. our local electrical supplier. This morning the new machine was delivered and installed.
The  diagram for "how to load" the dishwasher lets us know where to stack "minced meat" and "eggs" on the top shelf. Margarine however has to go on the bottom shelf.
Bosch  adding a new dimension to  preparing our food!!!!!

River tweed huge.

After all the rain in the past 24 hours the River Tweed is high and coloured. Very disappointing for the fishermen. More details on www.fishtweed.co.uk. Here at Whitehouse they have abandoned the river and gone to shoot clays at Braidwood sporting clays.

grouse shooting

The numbers of Grouse on the Lammermuir hills are better than they have been for years. Long may that continue. Young Grouse is on the menu and is  an absolute treat.
